Fortuitous Fate

Fortuitous fate finds me fully alive with joys I never could have thought possible.
A decade departed from what should have been my last day on this planet I find myself in love.
In love with my beautiful boys... in love with my perfect partner.. in love with me, myself and my life.
My life is so full of promise, so full of living, such a life I once thought impossible as I lay in my hospital bed, slowly recovering from horrific injuries, injuries only a 4x4 can inflict on your unprotected bare body.
It’s a long slow and painful process recovering from a motorbike accident in which you had no business surviving,
and my outlook on life was full of self pity, pain and pessimism.
When I look back on where I was physically...I was a shell of my former self... shattered bones, chronic pain, a pain pill addiction, but I was worse mentally... I was depressed, drinking to numb everything and with no desire to fight, to get better, to heal, to feel, to grow, to live.
And then, fortunately, I nearly died yet again, as a result of a pain medication mix up and I realised I actually wanted to live, to see my kids grow, to regain my health, maybe even find peace and who knows ... even love.
Then by fates fickle fortunes my first teenage love found me on FaceBook, and now by chance is back in my life, making me believe in love again...in living again...in myself... in happiness... in the future... in fun... in fate.
