Poem
I am a happy old Crone. Old Age, the bane and angst of Youth, is upon me. Again. It is the 'again' part that makes me happy. Why should I fear it? I know what is to come. I remember. And the memory comforts me. I now suffer creaky old bones. Wrinkled skin. New aches and pains greet me when I awake most mornings. I have been here before. Many times. I remember. My hair is long gone grey. Not for the first time. It all feels so... famiiar I have lived so many times. I remember quite a few of them. In this life, I've reached the level of awareness that allows me to remember. Opening. Old age suits me greatly. It is like discovering that old long forgotten worn out pair of blue jeans in the back of your closet. And they still fit. I wear them all day. The memories they bring back! Happy. I am now in this life, closer to going Home. Again. But there is something new, different this time. I have learned just about all my lessons. Each new life presents a new Life Lesson. Like the grades in school. Elementary "Play nice, clean your room, don't hit your sister" High School 'rejection, ridicule, unfairness'. College 'racism, sickness, poverty'. As one gets older the Life Lessons become harder don't they? But you can take comfort knowing that you are an 'older soul'. Also, life is not just about 'lessons'. We are given out lives out of Love by the Divine. Life is meant to be a Celebration. Life is also a stairway. Through all the many different lives, we find our way back. Home. And back, to the Divine. So what's different this time? Graduation! I know that when I get Home, it will now be my choice whether to come back here, or stay Home. I can now choose to stay Home and help guide others who have come back to learn a new 'Life Lesson'. Or I can choose to come back here and do this all over. Again. But that decision can wait... After the Party! faeryluna.com
