Cell phone zombies walking with heads hanging down,
Eyes fixed on a cell phone, not looking around,
Bumping into things they don’t want to see,
Never looking up at you or at me.

I look around and what do I see?
A room packed full of cell phone zombies,
And all I hear is a chorus of beeps and zaps,
As they bloody their fingers on cell phone apps.

These zombies have forgotten how to communicate,
With spoken words, for they cannot relate,
They’ll text a person in the next chair,
And act like they aren’t even there.

No eye contact, it’s no longer needed,
All thinking is on the screen, they just have to read it,
In the future cell phone zombies will lose their voice,
Because they have made the choice,

To live happily in cyber space,
Never to speak to another human face,
And this is the scary part, for me, so far,
Is cell phone zombies driving cars!
