Masculine Rhyme

Masculine rhyme is a rhyme that falls on the final stressed syllable of each line, as in light and night or remain and again. Because the stress lands at the end, the rhyme sounds firm and finished. It is the opposite of feminine rhyme, which has an extra unstressed syllable after the stressed rhyme sound.

Example

The rain will cease before the night
And leave the windows silver-white.
