Love Poetry

Love poetry is poetry centered on love in its many forms: desire, devotion, longing, joy, loss, jealousy, memory, or heartbreak. It may speak to a beloved directly, tell a story of romance, or reflect on love as an emotional force. The tone can be tender, passionate, playful, mournful, or reflective.

Example

I kept your name beside my tongue
like a seed kept safe through winter;
when spring returned, it broke open
and reached for light.
