Gushi is a Chinese poetic form meaning "old-style poem" or "ancient-style verse." It usually refers to poetry that is less strictly regulated than jintishi, allowing greater freedom in line length, tonal pattern, and parallelism. A gushi poem may still rhyme, but it is not bound by the tight formal rules of regulated verse.
