Duple Meter

Duple meter is a metrical pattern built on pairs of beats, with one strong beat followed by one weak beat, or the reverse. A line in duple meter usually feels like a steady two-beat pulse, as in many songs and some poems. The term is also used more broadly for rhythms organized in groups of two.
