Dispondee

A dispondee is a metrical unit made up of two spondees placed together, so it carries four strong stresses in a row. It is rare in regular English verse because poets usually avoid so many consecutive stresses, but it can be used to slow the rhythm and give a line a heavy, forceful beat.

Example

DARK STONE / BROAD ROAD / SHARP WIND / COLD NIGHT
