Choree

Choree is another name for a trochee: a metrical foot made up of one stressed syllable followed by one unstressed syllable. Poets use chorees to shape rhythm and emphasis, often making a line feel more driving or falling than the more common iambic beat.

Example

SUNset falls
BRIGHTly now
HUNgry wind
WHISpers low
