Christopher Pearse Cranch

Christopher Pearse Cranch, American painter and poet, b. Alexandria, Virginia, 8 March, 1813, graduated at divinity school, Cambridge, Mass. ’35, but left the ministry in ’42. He shows his Freethought sentiments in Satan, a Libretto, Boston, ’74, and other works.
