The Christmas Poem

Christmas is a very special time of year. I like writing. One day I browsed through a Christmas Book I had purchased at the local library's used book sale. That alone for me was a miracle. The book carried pictures and stories of Santa and the elves and delicious receipes and crafts. After browsing through the book, I wrote a poem called "Christmas Memories".

I live at a beautiful senior's residence. Each year they decorate the huge hallway. We have a floor to ceiling tree with beautiful lights and many decorations and ribbons. The stairway is decorated with a spruce garland and lights. I always say the complex looks like a Bing Crosby and Bob Hope special. This is my favorite Holiday Inn.

We have an exquisite letter and calendar given to us each month. The events are featured and the calendar views the entire month's activity. Well you can imagine how excited I was when my poem, "Christmas Memories" was chosen to be printed in our letter at Christmas. Now and then someone will come up to me and say they liked my poem. I appreciate that very much. They might have even sent a copy to their relatives to read.

Did I ever think writing could be this fulfilling. To say the least I wrote more Christmas poems. I hope to publish a book again and God willing I will be successful at that. I guess that is my way of promoting a love for reading and writing. Merry Christmas.
