Art of Souls
by Mohit Rahinj
Art is not a profession,
it is just the beauty of life.
Poetry and literature are not professional works,
they are the beauty of the soul.
Art is not for sale,
because it connects to our souls.
You cannot destroy art
because it lives in our hearts.
Art is life's beauty,
making life itself beautiful.
Art is everything,
and everything is art.
If you find art in your life,
your life becomes art.
I really don't know why i am writing a blog on the topic of this poem but i want to write on this topic. Yesterday evening, I was tired after working all day, so I thought I would open Instagram for a while to refresh my mind. The first post I saw had a quote that said, “I see poetry as spiritual medicine.” I liked it so much that I don’t know why, but just reading that one quote brought so many thoughts into my mind. Because that quote really touched my heart. And it was right, because poetry and literature are truly medicine for our souls.
Just imagine, if art did not exist, our lives would be as dull as an existence without a soul. Art is the very soul itself, and without that soul, art would have no existence. Art gives us life and teaches us how to live it; it teaches us to love and reveals the true meaning of life. Art teaches us everything.
History is filled with the arts, and the art are filled with history. Art is like oxygen in life. Art adds color to our lives. I really want the language of this blog to be simple English rather than poetic English, yet I find myself unable to control my writing, it feels like it is turning into poetry, making the blog seem more poetic. But still, the real subject is art itself... without art, there is nothing, art is everything.
I will explain only this much about art because, for me, art has no other meaning. You may find another word for art if you try to search for one, but whenever I try to find another meaning or another word for art, I simply run out of words. There are very few things for which I have no alternative words or meanings, such as art, poetry, love, the universe, and goals. For all of these, I have only one meaning, and that meaning itself is their name. Perhaps this is because whenever I try to explain what art means to me or express it in some other way, I no longer have the words to do so. That is why I cannot fully express it, just as I can with these other words.
And at the end this quote taught me about the depth of art. And just as people used to say that everything teaches us something, this one thought taught me something new about art.
Once, a wise man said: We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for. — Dead Poets Society
