Hi souper friends. Just a quick note to let everyone who followed me and my detox this week, I am back at home. I was signed off 8.00am this morning.
Thank you all for all the support you have given me and the encouragement. The social carer will visit me on a daily basis to make sure I am doing fine and not lapsing.
I read all your input in my previous blog and I felt emotional and it helped me a lot.
One comment by Chris D. Aechtner caught my eye mostly, and I can understand his very good advise . However I have a valid explanation why my detox only lasted a week.
I have been monitored by (North Essex Drug and Alcohol Service (NEEDAS)) it is free and they only offer one week rehab as they have only one allocation bed for the patients.
Once again thank you all and I hope and stay on the bandwagon. I have been alcohol free for a whole week.
1. Always do sober what you said you'd do drunk. That will teach you to keep your mouth shut. Ernest Hemingway
2. Affliction comes to us, not to make us sad but sober; not to make us sorry but wise.H. G. Wells
3. Sober up, and you see and hear everything you'd been able to avoid hearing before. Sammy Davis, Jr.
4. Getting sober just exploded my life. Now I have a much clearer sense of myself and what I can and can't do. I am more successful than I have ever been. I feel very positive where I never did before, and I think that's all a direct result of getting sober. Jamie Lee Curtis
Now that it is over, I want to enjoy myself being here, write more works, read your beautiful poems and comment.
