Hallo Soupers!
Hope you are/have been enjoying the festive season with your love ones.
When the kids were growing up, I used to long for a quiet moment away from the noise and the necessary activities when running a household. I am a person who likes structure and it was difficult when I had just cleaned the bedrooms and cupboards and they would tip it all out in search of a favourite T-shirt. This Christmas, they would have been more than welcome to tip my house up-side down if I could have spent just a few minutes with them. Both my husband and my children (by previous marriages) are living too far away for a casual visit.
I have found the poems shared on this site very comforting and sometimes hugely entertaining. Thank you for filling in the quiet moments (while the turkey was cooking, etc) with your inspiring thoughts. My time was limited and I did not comment as often as I would have wished to do so.
One of the contests here calls for an Acrostic poem. When I was at school, we used to write in "code" for fun. Maybe you did this as well? This had me thinking on the next contest, after the ZaniLa contest is finalized: There are a number of poetry forms which lend itself well to coded messages. With Valentine's Day being the next big event on the calender (after New Year), it might be fun to pen secret messages to love ones for the next contest. What do you think of this idea?
