President Barack Obama Wrote Back To Me

Blog Posted:7/21/2012 4:04:00 PM
I went to check my mailbox, and what I was looking for didn't come. I was a little irritated, but the one letter that did come was very surprising! I noticed the quality of the envelope paper, and looked. To my surprise it came from the White House! It's a response to my Presidential Blessing poem. Barack Obama sent some kind and encouraging words to The Scribe Marlon Linton.....I'll always remember this day. Time to frame it!.... Presidential Blessing........On my knees again Lord, with my palms up-for the Presidential elect Barack Obama-We were just running from the slave masters residence-Then we turned around and ran towards his presidence-They tried to smear his campaign, saying he's a Muslim-While America is war torn and recessed in her bosom-I have a dream, does Martin King become prophet-Known as a Civil Rights leader that earned his doctorate-The White House, members only non-melanin-I came up with that from the pictures of its previous residence-The Inauguration Speech, them the steps we were sold-The freed slave becomes president, what a sight to behold-Lord keep smiling in his direction-Under that, there's guidance and protection-Because stones will be casted by those with imperfections-My God, we have made it-On the television other continents celebrated-You've split the seas again, for our people to go through-North Stars like Oprah Winfrey, helped in guiding us through-Here we are in the promised land-Escaping was narrow, but we arose to Pharoah-Now I see what you're promising-Over 400 years, seeds have been righteously sowed-Finally reaping benefits that's righteously owed-Before my prayer close-I pray for those-Babies, and the rib from his side that you chose-May their eyes open when closed-As sure as Jesus arose- I ask that you lead us Jehov-Back to a place that's profound and distinguished-I marvel at your background architectural genius-As I open my eyes, and arise-Praise I give to you-Hallelujah!

@ Yasmin, no not yet. I just copyright the ones I have. You're a brilliant poet. Fame isn't what I crave. I want a bigger plateau for poetry writer's. I think we need to be in the spotlight, as other entertainers. I can't wait til I'm good!

Marlon, I am so proud of you for your poem that touched the President! How wonderful this day must be! Can't think of a better audience...ps...can I have an autographed photo-copy?...and your autograph too! hee hee hee....tickled pink for U! The only person that has ever wrote back to me was Greg Brady's secretary when I wrote a poem about him for Michael's contest last year...I also sent a poem I wrote about Herman Cain to his headquarters (b4 his candidacy spiraled out of control). Again, glad to share this very special news with you and all of our poetry friends! gwendolen

A wonderful thing to be acknowledged by the Presidant of the United States. Truly worthy to frame both poem and letter for future generations to see. Congratulations.

Hi Marlon, Congrats on the letter. I may not always agree with some of the things he's done and his spending habits scare the hell out of me, but he's taken a hammering not only by the republicans but by some of the inbred southern dems, and has handled it pretty well. This country has come a long way, but we still have miles to go. Again, congrats.
