 I started writing poetry as a young boy, actually they were lyrics to melodies I would invent, performed before the captive audience of Mom and Dad, who were, at least outwardly entertained. Let’s face it, if you can’t please a loving family it’s probably not a good idea to take your show on the road. I started writing poems in high school for English and Lit. classes and through college, some for courses, some for loves, and some---just because. Sold some lyrics for ads and had some writings published. Then life struck—marriage, family, work, and I didn’t write another poem for years, well, maybe a few. Then just over a year ago I was searching for inspiration for a eulogy because a friend’s Dad had died and my search lead me to Poetry Soup and the fine poets who reside here. I have learned more here than in all of my English and Literature classes combined. I can think of many names that have been particularly inspirational but truly it is the whole—this creative melting pot…Poetry Soup---Thank You

Just got this from my kid brother Kevin who around 20 years ago owned a nightclub in SoBe (South Miami Beach).
Craig, thought this might interest you, Kev.
This is pretty cool. Barry Gibb's son Stephen was one of my good friends down in FL and one of the few people from FL who I kept in touch with over the years. Although I was at the Gibb mansion many times I never got to meet Barry because he was either out of town or it was too late at night. We use to go there after we left the club because we knew the fridge was always loaded and the house was so huge we would never wake anybody up. I remember joking with him when he sang because he sounded nothing like his dad or uncles. Well here it is 20 years later and all three of Barry's younger brothers have died. Now Stephen is on tour with his dad playing all the Bee Gees songs. He's completely blown away. He's touring Australia now which is where the Bee Gee's originated from. He said he is completely taken back because Barry is Royalty over there. Everywhere they go it's like the Beatles were arriving with fans and paparazzi, Anyways, he is having the time of his life. I think it's awesome! Good for him.
