Poetry Plein Aire I am a busy New Yorker. I barely have time to eat lunch at my desk, never mind take a formal lunch hour out of the office. But today, the weather was too enticing. So, I propelled myself out of my office building, and onto the pavement. Bryant Park is a short 2 city two blocks away from my office . The massive New York Public Library fronts the urban garden. Not two minutes into my stroll, a gentleman, who was seated on the great garden perimeter , asked me if I would like to hear some poetry. How ironic..I was stunned by the coincidence that I was lead to hear poetry during my stolen moments from a poet. His name is Garrett Buhl Robinson. He has spent 20 years writing about dance, the ballet, dancers, choreography, the passion of the craft . He read several pages of his recent work, Martha, to me. His fervor was contagious! He has other published work ..full length chap books about unrequitted love, and a coming of age jouney made by rail, offered the form of poetic correspondence. His work is available on Amazon or you can see his blog on line , www.garrettbuhlrobinson.blogspot.com. I invited him to join us at the Soup. He also said that their are many poets in the park reading for the public. I suggested that we organize an event! An Evening of Poetry in the Park! I love this little town!
