A person/ place may remind you of a turtle, a memory, the moon... Think about the turtle, what it symbolizes, what it carries. what it leaves ..There have been some beautiful books written which include turtles ... The Turtle Diary, for example or Turtle Island by poet Gary Snyder. Other notable poems:
The challenge for you will be to stick clear of cliché. Give me some dynamo word pairings. Have fun, “submerge” yourself in the realm of a creature which has existed for at least 60 million years.
***Free verse poetry should contain figurative language/poetic devices. Prose is beautiful in its own right, but I am specifically looking for poetry. If in doubt about your content, please soup mail me.
