I'd like to thank all who left such positive comments on my 'FAST for the PHILIPPINES' blog... you were ALL supportive and encouraging.
So, I spent an afternoon walking from shop to library to cafe and all the businesses supported my event by allowing me to tack up my poster.
Yesterday, I was filled with hope when I heard that Canada has sent helicopters to help find any survivors, and that the U.N. has said that Canadian support during this catastrophe has been significant.
As for my little fundraising endeavor, here is a link to the article that our local paper wrote about my fast...http://www.newhamburgindependent.ca/news/new-hamburg-woman-goes-hungry-to-boost-philippine-relief/
I will write a short blog about my fast, after the event.
I will be cooking and serving meals to my family during this fast. For those who are spiritual, I am hoping this will be a mind/spirit/body connection.
And to my friends in the Philippines, I also heard the food market opened yesterday!
4,000 dead and 300,000 displaced,
but hope and the strength of the human heart still prevail.
Love sent to all Soupers...
ALSO WILL ATTEMPT TO JUDGE MY SONNET CONTEST NEXT WEEK... OH YOU SONNETEERS ROCKED MY SONNET WORLD! AWESOME!!!!!!!
