Hey Sis, NOPE YOU ARE NOT..and perhaps we need to understand this is a problem he is having and would have whether we existed or not, I have already left a message to him suggesting only 7's be put in the comment box. And as always it is easier said than done BUT remember the source, unless poet [x, y or z] has published books [not vanity press] there is no reason to pay any attention to them UNLESS their input helps you.

All I know is that if someone, anyone rated a poem I put my heart and soul into as a "1" the lowest possible and left no reason why, I would be terribly hurt, I do not think that is hard to understand, I hate that rating box and think it should be removed as it is meaningless in reality, one persons opinion does not define our poetry, only we can do that, Constance

Thanks for all your comments. I do appreciate it. And I do believe in clearing the air, like Mr. Vassallo has said, open conversation is good. I hope we can move forward... I apologize for making anyone uncomfortable, coming across strong about something I feel STRONGLY about. I hope we can now all return to writing poetry, reading poetry, HELPING each other with kindness. Now, who wants to see me spank myself? LOL... I can't promise to forever zip my lip, but I can promise to continue on self-improvement. But warning: I'll stand up for my friends, even those who don't see me as a friend. I don't like to see people hurt and --Lord help me--- when I do, I DO get ugly. Bear with me, please:)

Also, Freddie is passionate and impulsive and coming on a tad strong and I think you actually admit it Freddie. You recently posted a contest "Give Peace a Chance"---let's do that, because believe me, Cyndi is someone that you would be happy to call friend.

Cyndi.....your second to last line in this blog is honest.....you have said what's important....life is beautiful BECAUSE of imperfection.....Japanese call it "wabi sabi" twists of detail....experience.....i could go on...i know the future may be filled with our brains synthesized....but not today.....not today

Wowser, First, get real, there is no situation that exists or has ever existed among any society that doesn't split into different camps. If we appeared to be "one" it would be the biggest lie ever concocted. This is particularly true with the creative mind and is certainly true in our world. I am actually amazed how well everyone gets along although to the lazy mind it might not seem that way. Just my humble opinion but I think that Cyndi is the finest all around writer on this site with talent that astounds me in all facets of writing and I also feel that if there is anyone here that is respectful to all it is she. We've maybe talked by soup mail twice so this isn't about protecting a camp.

Cyndi, my little Canadian shit-disturber, I really do adore you... your blogs make me shake my head some days. Okay, my two bits worth. I ( like others have mentioned in previous years) do not agree with a rating system because a low rating may discourage an insecure writer. Some of us just don't give a ... fig. But to rate someone without a comment is just plain tacky. People have a right to know why you rated them the way you did, this is supposed to be a learning experience, comments are useful to that process, numbers are not.

Hello dear Cyndi im glad you re posting this up ..I am not a newbie here..ve been here for five years and a friend to everyone.I read Alfred's blog re ranking.Though ranking is not my cup of tea..I wouldn t have minded if he rated my poems.I accept everyones opinion.Yoy did sound as if you re ridiculing him in the comments you posted on his blog and now Im glad you re saying you weren t.I saw the comment you left on one of his poems too re his english gramna and thst you couldn t ecen rate his poem cause of that I do find Alfred's english quite appaling..after all He lived in Uk for many years and directed english drama both in Uk and in Malta"s national theatre. To be honest when

Hey ya'll. I totally agree with you, Cyndi, about the language barrier. I can't imagine trying to write my poetry in a language that isn't my native tongue (I can just barely get by in English!..ha) And I salute anyone who has the ability to do so...hats off to ya! Also, I feel for you about the misunderstanding. It's easy for meanings to get muddled when all you see is words. I've been misunderstood on this site before about what I really meant(not so much in poetry, just comments, blogs, etc.) It's inevitable when all you see is someone's words...not the tone of voice, eyes, etc. Oh, and you featured me once when I first came to the soup. I thought that was very cool.

Okay, i am bored :-) I am not into these kind of blogs... but something about your blog says' Cyndi only speaks when it's important or something is really bothering her. there for you are a sweet and lovely loudmouth in a very silent way. And don't worry about making this public, i'd seen blogs that have nothing to do with poetry. ((some might be my own)) lol Your blogs are important to the community............. Hope you don't mind me saying this, I felt as if I read a chapter in a book. You should become a novelist. xox~ LINDA

Hello Cyndi, the poet you are speaking of has been nothing but blunt and nice to me. He might be a little harsh, but i noticed he is very outgoing and determined ((good qualities)) He is liked and is welcomed to express his thoughts however he wants on my work. ;-) I kind of think he's kind of like you in a far away sense. don't hate me for saying that... he's BLUNT & HONEST!!! please do not be hurt over the matter... I got to admit you got me laughing with this "I’ll laugh with you, Nod my heart, smack my own ass and run around saying, “WHOOPS THERE IT IS!” I have nothing to express over this matter, we are all labeled to have our own opinions.

same old story Cyndi, a guy comes on here god's gift to women, everything written relates to that,, and there are always those that are followers, just like the religious sect's that are fronts for sexual pleasure, usually for the man. i've been here now for over 3 years and have been asked on many occasions to intervene, in some aspect regarding harassment. but there are some today so subtle in their innuendos..although easy to spot, but always with a double barrel meaning, one which can ridicule, if not careful, what you are saying Cyndi, is you questioned some of his suggestions/ideas/poetry that is not allowed. already his latest blog is to get one onside and split the camp(soup)

Cyndi, I am glad you posted this because I did not have the full story, now I understand and I support you totally, I saw those ratings and agree they could be discouraging to new poets and not helpful, for myself I could care less if someone goes thumbs down on my poetry, I write for me only, but new poets need encouragement and guidance on what they did wrong and even long time poets don't appreciate negativity without clues as to why, you did nothing wrong and only tried to explain, constance
