Tony Lane's Blog
 I live in Maumee, Ohio with my wife of 33 years and our Bloodhound, Sherlock Bones. I have been writing things since sixth grade when the teacher picked me to write the Thanksgiving play. I try to write and stage a play every year but it usually turns into about a 15 month turn around. I started writing poems about three years ago when my father-in-law's Alzheimer's got to the point where he was no longer dealing in reality. It was hard on everyone so I started writing poems from his point of view. The things he saw became a part of our lives too and it made it easier for us to laugh. (It's sad but sometimes he said very funny things.) Since then I've written on many topics but only a very few are serious. I like to make people laugh.

Hi everyone! Gwendolen told me that there was some question about my recent lack of attendance. I thought that was strange because I had clearly posted my where-abouts earlier. Now that I check, no I didn't.
Some of you know that I am not really a poet. That would be any of you who have read my poems. What I actually do for my creative expression is write plays. Usually this is not that big of a problem for me but the one that I have choisen to write this time is tricky. It's not my story. I have a friend named Dave Krewson who has written a novel, (Robby Braveheart.) Look it up and buy it. He asked me to turn his novel into a play. I said, "Sure, no problem." Never having turned a novel into a play before I had no idea what I was saying. The following week, another friend of mine, Kerry Clark, a singer song writer, look him up and buy his stuff, asked me if I would help him write a musical. I said, "Sure, that will be fun." Since I have never done that before either, I had no idea what i was saying.
Anyway, this is a long way of saying that this is kicking my butt. My real life job has just gone through a transition and I have new people working for me and new areas that I am in charge of. I have a lot going on. I miss you all. I promise I'll stop by more.
