I've been to many showers over the years.....one fun game is to write a story (or in your case it could be a poem)..leaving out key words (about things such as baby's name, hair color, description, a nursery lullaby ...or describe things about the parents or the nursery decor, or whatever..) print a copy for everyone, and each guest has to fill in the blanks with their own thoughts (whether they be wacky or not!) Then read each one, and vote on which one is the funniest or prettiest, or most outrageous, or most likely to be true. I hope you made sense of this? Good luck!

PD, I have never been to a any shower, but I have heard of something that would make it special...have each person in the shower, including Royal, write a poem about childhood, or something along the lines of a baby. I know, It's very poetry inspired but I think having each person write their poems would be interesting. Let then write Free Verse, or Rhyme if they choose to. Then there is a competition on whose is the greatest. Have each one read theirs aloud(or have a designated reader read them, informing all who the poem belongs to) then a vote on who's is the best...and it better be you Linda! I know this isn't a stretch for an idea, but could be interesting, no?

Wow! This is so exciting my dearest sis Linda! I'm so happy for you & to ur daughter. I don't have a baby yet but I know the feeling. When I was looking 4ward for the birth of my first niece & neph in the family, I was the most excited of all! Congratulations to u and ur daughter! Well, what i can share which I think will also be fun is a game called "charades" about baby foods, things or toys (w/ time limit). Another is the Genius Game: guessing game where you stick word on one's forehead (s/he has no idea what word is) then ask question to 1 person from other group & his answer will only be Yes, No, Maybe (in time limit) Hope you'll like it! Dear Linda, Congratulations "Grandma PD" and Best Wishes to YOUR Daughter. Don't know much about Baby Shower Games However If YOU don't want to cook, How about a Vegetable Bouquetire. Celery and carrot sticks, Broccoli and cauliflower spears, Julienne bell peppers,red green,yellow,orange, half moon summer squash and zucchinni or squash of YOUR choice with a homemade dip. suggestion only: sour cream, coconut milk half a squeesed lemon,crushed red pepper, chopped chives and a little sugar.Also a platter of pickles,black and green olives, dates, figs and tomato wedges. Finally Crecents of fruit; apples, pears, peaches,pinapples,plums etc. ( toothpicks?) LOVE Harry

I bought platters and I gave my sister in law, the dip idea.. I like it. That sounds better than store bought dips. I can't wait to taste the dip... You are very kind, and a true caring friend. I came just to open my mouth : o ... OK, You have to give each guest a piece of paper. Then you instruct them to put the paper behind their backs and try to rip out the outline of a baby, or a baby bottle, or a pacifier, etc... Then you have to give a gift for the best one and a booby prize for the worst one. Women use to have fun and lot of laughs : O

Sounds like fun...no games at the last two I went too, sadly. Sounds like a fun filled day !! One we played all enjoyed was placing items on a table, like Phyllis said, let everyone look, then cover and remove two or three. Towards the end of the shower uncover and let those guests try to guess which ones you removed. You have to have note pads and pencils or pens for this. Be ready for several winners if you are handing out gifts. Congratulations to all concerned.

Oh yes another one is give each person a clothes pin. If they cross their legs at any time you can steal the clothes pin. The person with the most clothes pins at the end of the games gets a prize. Easy and simple. love phyl

we did something similar but you didn't steal the clothes pins when they crossed their legs, you did it if the said "baby" first one to catch you stole your clothes peg , whoever had the most clothespegs after an hour got a prize.

Put baby items on a tray and give them only a minute to look at all the items. Then they have to list everything they could remember. Give a prize to the winner. My congrats to all. love phyl

PD. I will think on it. I know there are a few really funny ones. OH, here is one: you pass around a "clean" diaper that has been spread with melted chocolate bar. They have to guess which chocolate bar was used. hahaha. you could do several. Another one is easy. Just how many names can you think of that start with J or L, etc. whichever letter of the alphabet matches with the mother's preferred name choices. There is the scrambled word game,where you have items listed on paper for a baby and race to unscramble them. Also you can each take a piece of string and have to "guess" how long the string would have to be to fit around the mother's stomach. The winner of course is the right size!

At my Great-grandbaby's shower they had a game where they had the first part of a nursery rhyme ( example: hey diddle diddle....) and you filled in the rest of the line, there were about 14 and the person with the best winning score ( that was me ) won. Wording had to be exact. It was fun ( or maybe I just thought so because I got them all right)
