Chris D. Aechtner's Blog
Dreamt a dream about falling asleep - woke up in yet another one. A near-seamless string of dreams within dreams.
As I become older, I still retain the eternal heart of a 6 year old child. Sort of like Peter Pan....
and I will always take my chances with Captain Hook.

As a feature here on PS, I was thinking how neat it would be if we could re-arrange our poems list. Wouldn't that be a neat feature? Or am I one of the few who thinks so? I remember someone blogging about this in the past. If I recall correctly, it was Michael Smith.
I am not entirely sure how such a feature would work.... ....maybe click and drag our poem titles, to change the positions of postings? Wot might be difficult, is changing the position of a poem on our 3rd page, to our first page of lists; vice versa, etc.
Many people probably don't care about being able to tinker with our poems list. ______________________________________________________________
Most of the blogs I have posted in the past, were posted to purposefully incite people. I know, I know, it may not be the most kosher thing to do, but I enjoy inciting people, possibly shaking up their foundations a little, or even having people come together to rally against me; and by doing so, reinforce their own core beliefs, values, opinions and ideals. After having been raised on Luther, Tecumseh, Knox and Voltaire, I see the virtue in not everyone liking me; that would be far too strange. Nothing like the smell of enemy in the morning, to kick-start my heart.
There are some Soupers who have realized this for quite some time; others weren't so quick to catch on lol. As far as blogging goes, almost nothing can compare to the smile that spreads across my face when people put up 'counter-blogs'. It amuses me to wot great lengths people will go to counter the "Anti-Chris"; the "Holy Terror".
When people put up Thanksgiving blogs, I join in, instead of crying about how for many, Thanksgiving falls on a National Day of Mourning.
*Waaa!* *Waaa!*
Christmas is just around the corner now, eh. My daughter loves Christmas, so I put up a Christmas tree for her, and we decorated the tree together, using classic decorations. Many of the ornaments are antiques from Europe and other parts of the world....a few of these decorations have symbology attached to them from before St. Nicholas, or Sinterklaas, during the time period when Europeans decorated Yule Trees in honor of the God Odin, who was believed to drop presents down the chimney. My daughter loves this year's Christmas tree. I can barely remember how many times she has proclaimed how "awesome and beautiful" the tree is. I am glad she loves the tree. So, even though I am not a big fan of modern Christmas, I can easily compromise....to an extent.
I bought for my daughter the gifts she asked for, plus a few surprises, especially since she has been such a warm sweetheart this year(she is always a sweetheart....just sometimes she is a bit more ferral lol -- like father, like daughter; we will always have wild horses in our bloodstream; not ever becoming fully domesticated), and my daughter has maintained her grades in school, so she deserves the gifts. She's worked hard for them, actually.
Hmmm, ok I am going to try something right now.
Mer....Merry Ch--Ch--Chr....uggh, I am going to have to try harder!
Merry Ch-Ch--Ch---Chr-Chris -- doh! *Whew!* Merry Christmas!
WOW! Did I actually 'say' that!!?? _____________________________________________________________________
Random Thoughts -- I am so ticked-off with the whole Political Correctness thing. Wot a bore-snore of utter innanity.

I come from a multi-cultural/racial family -- this includes belief systems too. I am not a bigot, I swear(!@#$*% See! I cussed). But Political Correctness is going too far for me. I am not Politically Correct, nor do I ever want to be so. Just the thought alone, makes me cringe. People can go blue in the face preaching about tolerance and kindness.... ....does tolerance and kindness really have much to do with Political Correctness?
In my daughter's school, if the Principal accidentally says, "Merry Christmas" during the "Holiday Happening Pageant"(not allowed to call it a Christmas Pageant, even though the kids sing Christmas songs and act out Christmas skits), he has to apologize to an audience of hundreds of parents. If he doesn't, the Muslims and Atheists go crying to the local paper. And if the Muslims slip-up, the Christians and Atheists go crying to the local paper. Wot a st00pid mess. After the Principal has said, "Happy Holiday Happening" 10 times, it truly sounds....?(The Shakespearean-era word meaning to be happy and spritely).

If people immigrate/emigrate to this country, and they end-up not liking it here, please do the rest of us a favour by going back to where they came from. Thank you, kindly. ____
If I am at a public function, and a friend and I talk about hockey, or any of the other silly things that men might talk about, the Moral Majority Police will come scooting over with proverbial sirens blaring:
"Don't you KNOW that today is Bluggaboogaboogabingapingaponga Day!? Today is the Pingaponga's most holy celebration, and it is sacriligious for them to play, watch or talk about hockey. So SSSSHHHH!"
"Are there any Pingapongas attending today's function?"
(whisper)"I don't know, but maybe the couple off in the corner over there are? You never know. Please be respectful and kind; refrain from talking about hockey." ____
My Mama taught me to not ever inflict violence upon women; to offer a woman my jacket, if the woman appears cold, and to hold open doors for women(amongst other things too). Now, I fully realize this could be because my Mama grew up in a time when Chauvinism was very strong, and she might be conditioned towards such things.
But I am old-school enough to follow her advice, including holding open doors for women. These days this is a huge mistake! Nowadays, if I hold a door open for a woman(for anyone really, except for the Pingapongas, because they are infringing upon my right to discuss hockey at a public function), I might get a remark such as:
"Oh! You chauvinist pig!"
(For holding open the door....I get it.)
The irony of this is, that I was simply attempting to be kind by holding open the door, and after being called a pig by the offended woman, I will mutter a quick, "Eff-you too!", and a "Bee-Eye-Tee-Sea-AitcH" to boot, which makes the woman even angrier ha ha!
I can't stand these new-age Ultra-Feminists. They are worse than the Old-Guard Chauvs, because an ultra-fem can weigh the mistakes of the past, instead of employing Chauvinism, like hypocrites. At its core essence, Ultra-Feminism, is Chauvinism; obviously from the other side though. I find a submissive woman to be unattractive, just as I find a stupid woman to be unfeminine. And I find Ultra-Feminists to be highly unfeminine.
The key to the whole gender issue, is to highlight the strengths of our gender, while supporting the weak-points found in gender. This is wot ultimately leads towards true equality -- not by eroding the natural attributes that each sex has to offer; by eroding the natural roles of gender. Yes, more balance between the genders, more sharing of overall roles within the family structure is very important, but the majority is getting off-track. Have equal rights, equal pay, equal opportunity, etc, but don't have women become more like men, and men, become more like women, because when each gender highlights its inherent strengths together as a whole, this is when we are truly empowered as a species.
When I was in highschool, I advocated for women's rights (as well as advocating for other rights -- I have learned my lesson when it comes to such behaviour), signing petitions, going to parliament to push for certain bills to be passed. Then it dawned on me that these fem rights are taking away my rights....my basic rights. I didn't invent Chauvinism. I don't agree with it. And I sure don't agree with this new-age Feminism either.
For those of you who don't agree, please go right ahead with not agreeing. Good for you. Go protest with your PC friends, or do wotever it is that makes you happy, such as possibly putting together an Armageddon quilt depicting the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
As far as I am concerned, the Moral Majority Police and the P.C. Gestapo can take their rights, their placards, their Political Correctness, and shove it all where the sun and moon both don't shine. People can be very deceptive in how they glaze their words and actions with the guise of kindness and tolerance, when really, they are TELLING you how to act and think, using their own biased filters as moral sounding boards. It used to be the simple matter of kindness and tolerance being common sense, but nowadays, this can be much more subjective than ever before, since cross-pollination is exponential.
The arena of Political Correctness has become a 3-Ring Circus, and the Ring-Leaders are a bunch of loony nutters.
With all of these people pushing for so many rights, soon enough, we won't have the right to do anything, because anything we might say and do, will be seen as infringing upon the rights of someone else. Before we know it, all of the rights being pushed for, have actually negated our rights. Yes, people want so many rights; the right to be wrong; the right to eradicate our rights....with rights.

P.S. -- A lot of the comments in my last blog were great for me to read. I took my time meandering back to PS. I am always grateful towards those of you who keep this site light-hearted and don't always worry about being so Politically Correct.
Blessings towards a prosperous, productive and healthy 2013~! (Saying it now, saying it early, I don't feel like typing this too many times)
