Satan Claus Does Exist
Blog Posted:11/28/2012 11:46:00 PM
Last week, my daughter asked me if Santa Claus really exists.
Before responding, my initial thought was to propagate the lie,
so as to possibly not ruin the 'magic' of Santa for her.
I hadn't ever told my daughter that Santa doesn't exist.
The mysteries of imagination are a wonderful key for children;
for anyone really.
Besides, I figured it was a way for her to fit in.
Just as I was about to continue the Santa lie,
I noticed a glimmer in the corner of my daughter's eye.
Aha! Then I knew....she was testing me like a little trickster.
So I came right out and said that Santa doesn't exist,
family buys the Christmas presents for her.
A beaming smile shot across my daughter's face.
She thanked me for not continuing the Santa lie,
for being an honest adult,
because she had figured out how family buys the gifts instead.
My daughter said that she is perfectly fine
with family buying the Christmas gifts for her,
especially since one of the true meanings of Christmas
is about family, and how family equals love.
But she wasn't finished yet.
My daughter tackled all sorts of angles,
including how our planet is already sick,
and all of the extra garbage created by wrappings, etc,
only makes the planet even sicker....
....but even so! She still wants some presents lol.
Fine by me, since I enjoy giving more than receiving.
My daughter made it clear that even though she realizes
Christmas and Easter are about 'the Jesus',
she still believes in faeries(and Vampires, Bad and Good Spirits).
Great, especially when it comes to a fan of Peter Pan,
such as myself.
Now, my daughter did mention a few other things,
but I will leave this info out, since I am dealing with adults here,
who believe in Santa Claus.
I have found out the hard way,
dealing with adults who believe in Santa,
is a futile endeavor.
They'll come up with every excuse in the book to defend Santa.
I for one, feel blessed to have experienced Christmas as a child,
without the major Santa programming from family.
Sure, mass-consumerism depicted Santa outside of my family home,
but I knew the real meaning of Christmas as a child.
Even without Santa, Christmas was a magical time for me.
That said, the Pagan origins from which the modern Santa
was ripped-off(I am referring to before St. Nicholas/Kringle),
were actually wholesome, lovely traditions.
For the small handful of you who have enough intelligence and instinct
to see through my facetiousness and sarcasm when it comes to tackling
past blog topics, I am very grateful for your presence.
Even when it came to my series of Christian blogs,
there were a few of you who realized I wasn't actually
putting down Christianity per se,
but was instead, touching upon something deeper.
You have made my experience here at the Soup
so much more worthwhile,
proving how Modern Western Civilization is not a complete failure;
there is still a glimmer of hope; not everyone is a lemming
following other lemmings over the edge of brain-washed stupidity.
I do blame my obtuse aloofness for some of the misunderstandings
when it comes to past blog topics,
but I can't take all of the blame.
Some of the misunderstanding came from the sheer idiocy and lunacy
of the interpreter.
I say this in the kindest manner possible. lol.
One of several recurring dreams of mine, goes like this:
I come across a strange looking 'organic machine'.
Inside of the machine is a note.
The note reads:
"I will admit how much fun I had playing practical jokes on you.
But it is finally time to give you a break.
This spaceship is set on autopilot.
Simply get in, turn it on,
and it will bring you back to your home planet where you belong.
I figured it would make you happy to fit in with your own kind again."
