 Retired from the printing business in 2011...now happily living in Ponchatoula, LA close to my wonderful (and enormous) family. The bio picture is me holding one of my six great-grandchildren...I spoil all of them rotten because that's my job.

What's Your Favorite Music?

Okay y'all...got a real doozy here...what's your favorite type music?...Or even your favorite song?...I'm a hopeless music junkie and I love it all...R&B, Country, Jazz, Classical, Rock & Roll, Rock, Alternative...you name it!...Good music is good music, no matter what style...My particular favorite is what they call 'Beach Music' (Carolina Beach music)...Originated in Myrtle Beach in the early 60's as a substitute for the Jitterbug...very hard to Jitterbug in the sand, thus a dance called 'The Shag' came to be...A slowed down type shuffle done mostly to old R&B which had the correct rhythm and beat...much like the Cha-Cha-Cha or similar dances...Very intricate, delicate and artistic moves involved...The best Shaggers were 'steady' couples who got used to each other and merged and blended together, so to speak ...I never went steady so I was not a very good Shagger...they still have Shag contests in Myrtle Beach...By the way, I have a playlist on Spotify of Beach Music...started as a hobby, now it's grown to a whole damn day!
