Nice blog, Flo. I think Carol was the first to commet on mine...I'll have to look...also Andrea, David, PD, and others. BY the way, the fish in your pictures is a carp. There ar many different kinds but that one is called the common carp. 95% sure it's a common carp. 100% sure it's a carp.

Flo, why I don't remember you? Did you changed your name? During 2009 and 2010, I was suffering from "Poetry Soup Fever" ... I was reading and commenting 24/7 ... (don't laugh!) ... but I don't remember you. Do you remember me from that time?

And as Frank Sinitra put it so sadly about absent friends ..'Strangers in the Night...but now happily replaced with others which all goes to make PS a great 'tasting' place to stay with.

As Chris as opened my eyes to; I do want to add that the group we have now, circulating to as much as they can just to support others and for the joy of having their own work supported is wonderful!! I can always run over to Chris to see what verbal wonders he may tax my imagination with, Craig for some verbal artistry, Demetrios for that dab of philosophy, Jack for a smile and a hug, and Ruben to see he's still hiding a poetic wonder behind that mischievous tongue. Broken Wings understands my pain and Anne Lise can uplift me. Rachel St. Cross had my jaw dropping when she came through. Greg makes nature sing and Eileen makes the soul. Becca and Charma will support any kind heart with wonderful words.....so many newer ones...to me; And Chan making people squirm ;) Darren AKA Daz, Pete, Vera, Richard, Drake....wheww

Hi FJ,I joined May 2007 and still continue to use PS as a repository for my anthology. It's interesting reading my back listings as they show my development as a poet over the past seven years.I remain an' imagist' at heart but have concluded that poetry is an aural art ,hence my poetry I feature on youtube along with some of my art endeavours.I specially enjoyed the 200 contests I sponsored as they revealed what a talented group of poets posted here.I also had a great response to my blog snippets I did for two or three years.Have a good weekend.Rgds Brian

I know a lot of that group except for a few that never talked to me. I was sad to see ones like Sharon and Elaine stop posting. Once in a great while I notice a few of those golden Soup oldies still entering a contest or two!! One of the sweetest and realest of them all is Phyllis Babcock.

Hullo, Flo. I arrived here much later; 5 years later in the first part of 2010. Carol Brown was still a mainstay. I caught the tail-end of Sharon Weimer's Soup legacy. Sue Mason was really the first person to reach-out beyond just comments. I don't want to put words into her mouth, but her overall message to me(she could tell I was going through a journey of heavy catharsis), was to continue writing wot I know, to not compromise myself, to write how I want and to do so naturally; that if I write with my mind and heart connected, write for myself first, this will always ensure someone in the audience will also connect hard with it(maybe she noticed a shift, a compromise for contests? Wotever the case, it was a good wake-up call). Unfortunately she disappeared very quickly -- a 'night-flight'. Sue would comment on my poems that weren't "white-picket-fence" themes....poems with views that didn't receive a lot of comments. Many of those early poems have been deleted, but her advice stands with me to this day. I am not sure if he remembers, but Frank Herrera was another poet who would leave encouragement on earlier poems of mine that had 'controversial', raw, real-life, personal, world issues as themes. Again, poems with views, but with a reluctant commenting audience(my 'soft' poems are the ones that got the 'easy' comments). So both Sue and Frank helped reinforce for me to not compromise myself and worry too much about people who attempt to mold me into someone who they want me to be. To be myself.

Hello my friend, still trying to find my words to write again. It is a joy to stop by and read the blogs and a few poems again. Do you remember our little Café. I have poems here at home somewhere of those days. Spider Lady comes to mind and so many more. I need to go check out your contest and see what I can do for it. Lots of love, Carol
