Life is an infinite continuum, feeding on its own death. Our mortality, real and imagined, lives within. We can always see these truths with a discerning eye. The mirrored images that seem like two, are but one, a parallel universe whose paths cross like a wisp of wind, we are all of one time, like prose and poems written in separate centuries, but of the same struggle. There, always there, truth never hides, except for those who don’t seek it for fear of what they might find. From light to dark we fly in different directions though toward the same destination. What matters is what we do on our flight. Do we see the paths of leaves as they float on the pond, the reflection of the sky beyond, and the trees, who have now shed their leaves but will reflect full in the spring; beneath the leaves, the roots of the lily pads and the stare of a wary carp who looks from his world as we do from ours? We must find time on our journey to read, play a game, or simply sit and wonder at the marvels around us, for death will come in its own time…

Contest Status: Member

Don't you think it's a little busy to keep all of the old contests that are never judged in the status section.  It would be easier to read the ones that matter with the dead ones gone---how about three months or whatever, and then the soup should remove them--what do you think?

Hello Craig, Do you know who River Phoenix was? Yes, he pass away from a drug over dose at the age of 23 back in 93'. SAD! He made it all over the 17 and bop teen magazines... yes i was a major fan... anyways~ before his death, he worked on a movie called "Dark Blood" in which 75 percent was only filmed. here's the interesting story part... 20 years later after hanging and taking up space, they're releasing the film.... or have already. the truth is, the film was about to get destroyed. luckily, director George Sluizer salvaged the movie. Can't wait to see it. :-(

Well... I can live with or without those old contests waiting to be judged. I used to avoid clicking on the "contest status: member" link just to prevent high blood pressure or hyperglycemia... : ) Smile! It's just a joke! Life is short! Have a nice evening. Ruben.

I think leaving them there motivates membership renewal i.e. more profit.

I am not entering contests, so this issue doesn't really bother me. I don't care about the contest status page either way, but I like to 'talk' a lot(lol), so I am here. I suppose that if a contest junkie has the tourniquet in place, and is ready to push down on the plunger for another lethal dose of contest inspiration, or is checking-out contests that are filled but haven't been judged, it could be annoying to have a cluttered page. But as has been mentioned, there are instances when sponsors judge their contests at a much later date due to real-life-issues. On the other hand, "dead-wood" contests take up memory." So not only would I vote to have some sort of expiry date on old contests, but I would vote to scrap the entire contest scene in general. It is my right to desire such things, so back off(lol).

Francine, has a point, my sister has a hello kitty contest... I asked her if she was gonna renew her Pm, to judge the contest ... she said not yet, she is still having family problems... She ask me to close the contest if I like... ha ha but, that means I would have to renew the PM. However, I agree with 6 months or a year. xox~PD

Having my poe's in limbo doesn't bother me, but I can see how others may not like it. I'm trying to remember, I think, er it was Nancy (?) who judged a contest later... but she did judge it. I think of Nette, whatever has happened I do not know, I would feel so sad that a judge who has always reached out to all who have entered her contests, offered help with poems, kindly gave reminders to her rules, who inspired so many for YEARS, would have one of her contests closed without her okay. People can pull their entries, another option. I know, I'm a softie, give leadway, but I guess life has taught me that sometimes people are in situations which shut them down, shut out others... Good blog xo

this topic has been covered before, Amy's contest sat there for a year or so then she renewed her membership and finally judged it. It would be nice if TPS set limits 3 months, 6 months , something

I think you're absolutely right. There's a contest called Wolfman that's been there forever. I agree with you 100%. Have a great day. Luv, Gail
