ENVY DOES NOT MAKE YOU HAPPY

                          I read an Arabic word of wisdom today,
                        it has not so many words but says so much.

                       

                             I share it with pleasure with you:

         

                     * I felt sorry for myself because I had no shoes -
                              until I met a man with no feet -

    As we get more affluent, I believe greed sets in and envy is an off shoot of greed. I grew up in a small mining town and most just barely made ends meet if at all. There was always enough to share. Progress has never improved humanity only the things which really matters little.

    This proverb , or parable has always amazed me. Count your blessings, because someone has it worse....this reminds me of a gentleman who lives on my street. He's in a wheelchair with a stereo, never walked one day in his life, and you can never catch him without a smile. He said when he's done with life, he'll continue to run in his eternal one!

    Yes, that Arabic word of wisdom is a lesson for us all: when we lack something of comfort, and in this case is shoes, we realize that walking barefoot is uncomfortable, but aren't we luckier than that poor men without feet? Thanks Anne-Lise for sharing it with us. Enjoy your day. Hugs, Andrew.

    I shopped today with one of my clients who knows this is her last Christmas. WHile people purchased gifts hoping their family/friends would like what they bought, my client bought gifts hoping they would have a keepsake of her life forever more. One of my favourite days, spending such a meanful day with one, who reminds us of what is important. Lee
