I'm a new poet/ unable to pay for membership I'm here to grow as an us coming poet. I ask that you tell me the truth at were I could grow at I will let you know I failed English and left school at 16yrs pregnant with my first son. now turning 21 an I have six children my baby's -10. next month so I had become uneasy to what I would become as that was my dream as a child. just to be a mum. I am slowly getting better with my spelling but it all depends on if my laptop would like me to see the page I'm writing so sometimes I'm writing blind. all my early poems are from details in my life so I do date them for you. I've writing my life poem but sadly you will not be seeing it as its 8pages long and I can not afford memberships I live in a country town 70 km from Adelaide please start with my poem "baby" seems to be everyone's favorite please enjoy get lost into the emotions and pain they are as stated real life avents I endured during 2000-the present. since starting here on the soup I've found that I now have to work and focus as all my previous ones just always wrote themselves enjoy n hope to see some of your work

with truth comes a brilliant poet My mind.... is not my own today
I just wish.... 'I' was loved.. T'is my mother who... is full of "shame"

A lifetime of lie's... 'were' the pathway, to her demise....as I grew to, become a mum

This would open my eye's, to finally realise.... she....has alway's been...the 'unlovable' one

I came to know, the purity, inside of... another's "soul"

my children, 'forever'... eternally, embedded deep, into my internal subconscious

I feel them, even when there, mile's away... it's pure devotion

The very thing... my own mother, would 'never' have allowed in... 'this indescribable pleasure'

introducing myself Hi I recently became a member and I have be on soup now since June. I would just like to pop up to let you all know that I have been editing nearly all my poems.
So please take a peek and any advise to improve is a welcome comment.

I hope to mature in my work so I can publish eventually.

I do not have any particular style I seem to cover almost all forms and all subjects.

Please help me to achieve a once mythical dream of becoming a known and published poet.

Kind regards and a pre thank you to those who find time to help out.

your friendly Aussie poet Denise Hopkins

My poetry pippyyym wrote:
Hey guys,
I'm looking for a few mentors who would be willing to help me by looking over poems for me and giving me some constructive criticism, as part of a project

I'm new to this online world of poetry and mentors, so you would need to be patient with me, but I am very willing to listen to people who have more experience than me.

let me know,we can do it here at poetry soup, or through email. cheers

Do people do collabos in this place?
like have one thread, one poet start of with a line or two on whatever topic and any intriested parties can chip in so long as they stick to the subject!or can deviate so long as it makes sense!!!
The fun in writing!!!
