Where has Daddy Gone?
Friday afternoons
looking out the kitchen window
onto the busy street,
I looked,
I waited,
and looked some more.
This was our weekend!
As the weeks drifted away,
the years did the same.
Our weekend was not to come.
Where have you gone?
You said you would be right back.
You left with her!
The bumblebee lady.
Big hair,
black top,
yellow pants.
