Silly question?

A little ignorant here, where to you draw the line between classicism and rhyming poetry. Is it the cadence of the rhyming and the meaning in the words. They both seem to rhyme? I don't understand fully...

I have been out of circulation recently because of caring for parents. Poetry Soup is a great place to share, unwind, or whatever the reason you are here. For me, poetry helps give me balance in life. I still read, but I cannot gather my thoughts at the moment to write...just a blank. Maybe this is a writers block...Happy this forum is happening
