Courage

Written by: Jessica Hanna

How many periods have passed,
That you wished could pass so fast,
And how many endless hours
You hoped would never last.

How many people held you flowers,
A mate, a friend who never cowers.
Then the day comes to its end
To cover you with blaming showers.

Courage now got out of trend,
It’s not something you can lend,
Yet if you fight for it to be,
Insuperable torments it shall mend.

How many blessings you can’t see
That your heart locked without a key,
Made it hard to sympathize,
Thus so hard to set you free.

You often fail to realize
How lovely grins can agonize,
And so you seek your salvation
In feigned bonds that hypnotize…
