Blah-Blah

Written by: Joseph Granda-Padron

Ask me if I care for the acknowledgement
Or the praise
Or the greatness that so seldom
Comes from the written
Word
And
I’ll ask you to turn
Right around
And shove your head right on up
Your…

So don’t ask.

Don’t ask.

Compelling as it may feel
Stay far away from all
Of it
If you can.
Your head will get too big
With a showering of success
And the sort.
Toss it to the side
And just write
Be yourself
Have sex and drink and smoke
And cry and do whatever it is
You do.

The birds will
Always
Be there
Chirping.
