As I lay upon the grassy knoll
my spirit's lifting to the sky.
The sweet night choir soothes my soul.
And all the earth lets out a sigh.

Bewitching beams of sheer delight
do sparkle down from far away.
I become one with the night
as Mr. Moon comes out to play.

Far below the tides are churning
as the stars above align.
Moonlight cascades down with yearning
causing an enchanting shine.

If sunlight makes a soul so plain
the moonlight gives them loving grace.
with all the charms they can attain;
the moon puts a smile on each face.
