My Kingdom

Written by: Charlie Parker

Let judgement not be of such
among men on this glorious
day
for I have once again
established my kingdom of
words and called upon such,
Gather around my fellow folk
and turn your ears to what I
say
for what I create through ink on
my canvas is not a play of luck.

Through you it is I who craft
such a skill
and through emotion I play its
much balanced game,
And despite my kingdom which
lies on the highest of hills
know that I dare not look down
on those who say it is I to
blame.

for I am aware that many
choose to ignore the depths of
my words
and curse its arrangement as if
it holds no meaning,
how dare such these souls be
against me for their voices not
heard
and threaten to such a degree
as if fear is going to tell me I
am leaving?

Let it be known on this day and
to all the days that have passed
I am not fearful of fear as IT is
fearful of I,
For I've stared deep in its eye
and found only room laugh
knowing my kingdom is mine
and that it cannot die.

I have fought my battles as
they came as any would do
lost a few and gained what was
meant to be taken,
So take this as it is if it is
meant to be heard by you
I shall never fall from my
kingdom, let that not be
mistaken!
