Write the End to This Fairy Tale

Written by: Eileen Ghali

He didn't see her tears
He didn't hear her sigh
He couldn't see the longing
That was burning in her eye

He didn't notice her
He didn't seem to care
She was slowly giving up
Dying in her despair

She just didn't know how
To make the embers blaze
She walked around in gloom
Her life an endless maze

But then…someone came by
A chivalrous kind knight
Who saw her real beauty
And took note of her plight

He tried his best to woo her
To fill up the empty space
He said, “Look in my eyes
See the reflection of your face.

You are altogether lovely
A goddess from another plane.”
She couldn't believe all this
Did he think she was insane?

But slowly her heart melted
She started to tingle inside
The joy shone from her face
It was hard from love to hide

Now she faced a dilemma
What was she supposed to do?
Leave the one she still loved
To grasp a love that’s new?

Dear Reader, to this fairy tale
We must find a happy end
For we have yet to see
If the knight is heaven sent

There are many simple truths
That are woven in this tale
But clearest of all is this:
Love unurtured is bound to fail.
