A Late New Year Poem

Written by: Earl Hans

The year has passed but not the pain
The era of death still remains
In our world, a great vale of tears
Suffering is, it minds not the year

Why change, when it only reverts?
Why stand tall when you'll fall in reverse
The line of division is blurry
Between the brave and foolhardy

Chaos, conflict, the constant clime
Commonplace is the cruel crime
A stagnant time is our age
A foolish play on a worthless stage

Worthless actors playing worthless parts
The world tires of you, it is scarred
Thus, time's river become stagnant
As repeating wrongs run rampant
