The Waves of Life

Written by: Michael Hilario

I’m like a wave
I go where the wind blows
To the shore where he takes the water
To wash out all the sands of doubt
And clear the rubbished shore

In the shore I met the birds
Looking for their platter
But the wave does his own business
Taking away pride and prejudice

Where people keep their hatred
Leaving it at the edge
Up the wave he cleanses it
The shore of loneliness and pain

People don’t think
Selfishness is their business
But the waves smoothly soothes
The rough edges of a foolish age
And neatly polishes the sharp edge

Until it calm down
And settle down in peace
In our old age we recall
How our lives had been
Being lost and finding the way
To eternity our destiny will be
