Magic of Light

Written by: craig cornish

We are born with an affinity to light,
To brightly colored skies,
Fireflies at dusk,
City lights from a hilltop
In a theater of starlight,
Fireworks to celebrate
And the candles on a cake,
All with the magic to light a heart.
But without the myriad of lights,
Without the brightly colored decorations
The magic of Christmas would fade.
At the darkest time of year
We need both faith and light to lift us.
Without light hope dims.
Depression feeds on darkness,
But the magic of light,
Especially at Christmas,
Is energy and magic for the soul.
