Jake Ends It All

By Elton Camp

Alice, his wife, was the plague of his life
Poor Jake felt he couldn’t stand the strife

He took a pen and made out a note
And the following is what he wrote

“Your constent criticisum is more than I can stand.
So I’ve decided that I should die by my own hand.”

For him to continue living there was no use
So he carefully suspended a hangman’s noose

Then Jake placed the rope tightly over his head
He kicked away the chair and soon he was dead

When Alice came and found him hanging there,
The note pinned to his chest she read with care

That Jake was correct anyone could easily tell
She said, “‘Constant criticism’ you did misspell.”
