Lovers dictionary fun

Written by: Seren Roberts

They were young,
Their love was a tender bloom
They struggle with the yearning
Deep in their inner soul

But love isn’t for them because
Religion is the chess board they are just a pawn
Being bamboozled with contempt
From elders throwing scorn

All they want is each other
Want to cherish the flame
Deep within their hearts
Not hang their heads in shame.

They have done no wrong
Just fallen in love, want to taste
The passion they feel
But have not savoured in haste

Their attempt at a relationship
Which changed from affection to love
Not the abomination that they
Are told they are guilty of.

So silently they run away
To families they are now dead
Knowing they can never come home
Whilst animosity raises it’s head
