The Scar

Written by: Carl Fraser

No motivation,no desire to move on,
and the rut deepens every day;
My mind is a nuclear holocaust,
as my soul just melts away.

The stifling blackness looms over me,
ready to claim it's prize;
Just another loser in a barren sea,
destroyed by believing the lie.

I wish I could tear my heart out,
and hang it somewhere else to heal;
And return sometime in the future,
where we never have to feel.

There are some hurts we all can handle,
and the scars will someday fade away;
But some gnaw at you like cancer,
and just haunt you all your days.
