In Your Eyes

Written by: Gail Angel Doyle

In Your Eyes In your eyes is a broken window Of painful memories which transformed an old soul Though the sparkle that I can faintly see Will someday ignite your fire to a flame that will burn so freely In your eyes are shattered tears Coming down like rain that drowned the tender years Though your tear drops still relentlessly show A glisten into the sunshine allowing hope to grow In your eyes holds the key To a locked door which pain created eventually Though I see that I also hold the key To open the portal and set you free In your eyes I see that flame You thought had drowned in the endless rain Though if you take a look you will see the rain has stopped Raindrops had transformed into burning embers deep within your heart
