To My Mother

Written by: Sherene Jervis

There were times I felt like giving up
Whenever things go wrong.
But you're the one who encouraged me,
You kept singing the same old song.

You taught me to take one step at a time
And never relive the past
Though there were some wonderful memories
But they don't always last.

If I could make three wishes
I pondered what they would be
But now I know exactly what
I'd wish for you, you see.

A lifetime of happiness
Which would brighten each new day
I'd wish for you the loveliest of all things
That may ever come your way

And last but not least
I'd wish for you, not a car
But that life will just be kind to you
My precious, precious star.
