Momma Told Me

Momma Told Me

Momma had alot to handle, family of eight
She is the best, she kept us straight
Listening to her was easy, we were content
Anytime together was time well spent

As a little girl, I hardly looked back
Memories in and out, some fell down the crack
I was a tomboy, always climbling in the trees
Outdoors was where you could find me, mud up to my knees

Every now and then we would get into an argument
Mom would step in, she was very diligent
Something she told us, that today still stands tall
"If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all"
