A Common Cause

Written by: craig cornish

I can't recall a time more torn
Although I'm sure there was.
We fight and bicker constantly
With hardly breath to pause,
And, sure, we rant bipartisan
But underneath it all
A truth hides deep within a heart
That soon becomes a lie.
John Kennedy said ask what not
The country does for you,
But put your shoulder to the wheel,
All pitch in together.
In a common cause we struggle
And in that light we stand.
Does us no good to finger point,
The blame goes all around.
Step down and see a family
That has a common cause,
Let's do it now, before too late
We see that all is lost...

This pertains to our soup family too!
