This Autumn Day - a constanza

Written by: Francine Roberts

The chilly north winds now abound
as Summer says her last goodbye
and takes leave with a quiet sigh.

Whistling through trees, melodic sound.
Canadian geese shape vee form,
headed south to try to stay warm.

As Autumn leaves fall to the ground
swirling, twirling in a slow dance.
To show off, this is now their chance.

Red and gold blanket, 'neath trees found.
 Coloured array covers the green,
Summer's blossoms no longer seen.

Raked into a colourful mound
for children to jump in and play.
Enjoy to the fullest this day.

The chilly north winds now abound,
Whistling through trees, melodic sound.
As Autumn leaves fall to the ground,
red and gold blanket, 'neath trees found,
raked into a colouful mound.
