Vile

Written by: Aleh Barysau

Praised always villainous by them,
shines in the sun the gold of rein,
the essence of the filthy man
a blank stare gives at them again.

Keep silent they, his words obey,
one can’t get in another soul,
their bodies he can take away
and they are taxed on his teardrop.

Light and dark play hide-and-seek,
rays seek where shades can hide,
serves them he with carrot-stick:
law and crime, he cheats - they lie.

Hey, in the Milky Way there is a lie,
from age to age, from birth to death,
since a man has nestled vile
in the vale of misery to wrest.
