Dreamland

Written by: Andrea Dietrich

How I enjoy being wrapped up real tight Warmly curled up in a ball, Visiting Dreamland so deep in the night, Having no care at all! Warmly curled up, no noise allowed, There in my cozy bed; Blankets on top, the pillow a cloud Under my weary head. Then comes the sun, and it’s time to rise, Get up and greet the day. But how I love to again close my eyes – Dreamland’s my getaway! For Joann Grisetti's Copy Cat Poetry Contest This is the kind of poetry I grew up hearing, so I tried to imitate the exact rhythm of the poem I was inspired to copy and the innocent lyrical quality of "The Swing" by Robert Louis Stevenson
