In Tomorrow's Shade

Written by: Daniel Larson

Two mistakes had been made
     with my conscience under attack,
One was to let it go,
the other was taking it back.

Spoken words cast the blame
     and I entirely agreed
That so much had been moved
beyond the hour of my need.

Somewhere just past the night
walks the young lad that I outgrew,
Sees it all through my eyes
but from a simpler point of view.

Whispers glide unspoken
     through stormy ravages of Spring,
Bluebird’s spirit's broken
and she has fallen from the wing.
